On the night of August 5th to 6th, on the initiative of the Georgian side, the Georgian Military Road was closed to all types of transport, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia warned.Thus, the crossing of the Russian-Georgian border will be temporarily suspended. It is not yet specified how long the restrictions will last. It is only known that they are not related to weather conditions, but to repair work at the checkpoint on the territory of Georgia.The movement of all types of vehicles on the section of Vladikavkaz – the locality of Lars – in the direction of departure from Russia is prohibited. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania, the decision was made in connection with the repair work of the checkpoint on the territory of Georgia, as well as taking into account the recommendations of the border police.The time of the resumption of work of the Upper Lars checkpoint and traffic will be announced additionally.
