Russian citizens arriving in Norway as tourists will be denied entry
Russian citizens arriving in Norway for tourist and other non-essential purposes will be denied entry. Exceptions can be made for Russians coming to Norway to visit close relatives living there (parents, children, officially registered spouses), as well as those arriving in the country for the purpose of working or studying in Norway or other countries of the Schengen Agreement.Nothing is said about the holders of a residence permit in the European Union. It should be noted that Norway is not a member of the EU, but at the same time it is a member of the Schengen Area, the European Economic Area (EEA) and is a founding member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).But for now, the question is whether they will let you in with an EU residence permit or not. With 99% probability, it can be argued that the opportunity to return from the European Union to Russia via Norway (Kirkenes – Murmansk) will remain. The new rules come into force on May 29, 2024.
